Ralph Siegel

Author and Historian

Ralph Siegel has been a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park since 2004. A former Associated Press reporter, he also served as executive director of the Garden State Preservation Trust in the New Jersey Treasury Department before retiring in 2021. Ralph is the co-author of Peach Orchard: A Gettysburg Battlefield Guided Tour and is known for advanced battlefield programs that challenge conventional narratives of the battle. He has presented seminars, anniversary battle walks, and programs for the Gettysburg Foundation, the National Park Service, and Gettysburg History—many of which have been recorded for PCN TV. Each December, Ralph returns to Trenton to lead battlefield tours of the city and Washington’s Crossing Historical Park during New Jersey’s Patriots Week Festival, which he helped establish two decades ago.
