Jean Green

President, Lincoln Cemetery Project Association

Jean Green is a lifelong Gettysburg resident with family roots in Adams County dating back to the 1890s. A graduate of Gettysburg Area High School and the Lear Siegler Institute, she built a career in business administration and hospitality before turning her passion for history into a lifelong pursuit. Jean is a published author, respected tour leader, and engaging public speaker whose work often focuses on uncovering local African American history. In addition to leading the Lincoln Cemetery Project Association, she serves as a trustee of Gettysburg History, co-chairs its Black History Committee, and is Church Historian at Gettysburg United Methodist Church. Her research has taken her from Gettysburg to Verdun, France, where she traced the story of her uncle who died in World War I.
